Why not recycle your Christmas tree?
Just take it along to Mansfield Household Waste Recycling Centre, Kestral Park, Kestral Road, NG18 5FT, and they will do the rest. See the opening times below.
The trees are then either chipped to make paths in parks and gardens or shredded for composting.
And until 31st January, the waste management contractors Veolia have vowed to donate £100 for every 50 tonnes of Christmas trees and garden waste received to the chosen charity of the Chair of Nottinghamshire County Council - Nottingham Hospitals Charity.
Nottingham Hospitals Charity exists to benefit patients, visitors, staff and facilities at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust's City Hospital, Queen's Medical Centre and Ropewalk House campuses.
Councillor Carol Pepper, Chair of Nottinghamshire County Council said:
"The Nottingham Hospitals Charity is an excellent charity and we hope to raise as much money as possible for patients of the Cystic Fibrosis Centre and their families.
"I would urge all residents to recycle their real Christmas tree to help make a real difference."
